Jacob Thomas has been named president, Latin America, for Terex Corp., effective immediately. With profit and loss responsibility for the Latin America region, Thomas will lead the organization and will report to Steve Filipov, president, Developing Markets and Strategic Accounts for Terex.

Thomas began his Terex career as vice president, Product Development and Technology in October 2007 and was named senior vice president, Product Development and Marketing in 2009. Prior to joining Terex, Thomas was a vice president for Navistar International Corp.’s Engine Group, following other general management and product development leadership positions at Navistar’s diesel engine and commercial truck businesses.

As a key and fast-growing developing market, Terex expects greater than US$1 billion in sales in Latin America by 2015. As previously announced, a new manufacturing facility is under construction in Guaiba, Brazil, to support continuing growth for our business in the region.
