Power Test To Acquire Test Systems Manufacturer

Posted on June 5, 2006

Power Test, Inc., the Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based manufacturer of engine and chassis dynamometers, data acquisition and control systems, announced that it will acquire the Vehicle Testing Systems business of AIDCO International, Inc., Adrian, Mich. Financial details were not disclosed.

AIDCO’s VTS division manufactures a range of dynamometers and testing platforms targeting heavy-duty off-road and military vehicle chassis, transmissions and transmission control valves. AIDCO also specializes in robotic and conventional palletizing material handling systems and logistical systems and services.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter, Power Test said. The VTS operations will be moved from Adrian to Power Test’s headquarters in Menomonee Falls and Power Test President Alan Petelinsek indicated that the companies have developed a transition plan to maintain a high level of support for current AIDCO customers.

This is the third time in the last four years that Power Test has expanded through acquisition. In March of 2002, the company purchased Stuska Engineering Co., a specialist in high performance engine test equipment, including smaller water brake dynamometers, data acquisition systems and accessories. Then in August of 2005, the company acquired the assets of Maxwell Dynamometers, which manufactures heavy-duty engine and chassis dyno systems.
