Honda Investing In Swepsonville Manufacturing Plant
Honda Power Equipment Manufacturing Inc., a division of American Honda Motor Co. Inc., is investing $8.5 million in its Swepsonville, N.C., facility and planning the production of a new generator as it marks the plant's 30th anniversary on Wednesday.
The Swepsonville site was opened in 1984 and produces a wide variety of outdoor power equipment including lawn mowers, string trimmers, snow blowers, water pumps and general purpose gasoline engines.
Honda Power Equipment Manufacturing employs more than 620 full-time associates and 340 contract associates at the plant, which produces more than 2 million products annually, including approximately 1.5 million engines per year for use by Honda and other manufacturers.
Honda said it has invested more than $250 million — including a $30 million expansion a decade ago — at the location over the past 30 years, enabling it to produce more than 27 million power products.Edit Module
