Bobcat Opens Center For Design, Testing, Training
Bobcat Company and Doosan have opened the doors to the Acceleration Center, which the companies said is the beginning of a generation of advanced product innovation and accelerated learning that will benefit customers, dealers and employees.
The facility in Bismarck, N.D. will be home to 175 individuals, primarily engineers, who are tasked with design, prototype engineering and manufacturing, computer simulation and testing concepts. Employees moved to the new location two weeks ago.
The $28 million project involved expanding an existing building to include office and lab space, classrooms and demonstration areas, and both indoor and outdoor machine operation areas. The facility has 190,000 sq.ft. under roof, with an additional 22 acres of space outside product development.
The open office environment is design to encourage collaboration and is equipped with the latest tools and software systems to expedite leading-edge engineering, and product and process development, said Bobcat.
The Acceleration Center is designed to become a key engineering facility for all Bobcat compact equipment distributed globally, said the company, and it will also help serve some of Doosan heavy equipment’s research and development needs for the North American market.
Bismarck is also home to Bobcat's production facility for attachments and several of its compact skid-steer models, and its manufacturing, production control and logistics group has been located in the city since 2012.Edit Module
