Kohler Gains More Seismic Certifications
Kohler Power Systems, the Wisconsin-based manufacturer of generator sets up to 3.25 MW, transfer switches, switchgear and related accessories, announced it has secured pre-approval from California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) for its large generator enclosures and tanks. The pre-approval includes the company’s 1.25 to 2.0 MW systems, which the company said makes it only manufacturer with OSHPD pre-approval on standard enclosure and tank packages above 1000 kW. The large enclosure and tank packages are also seismic-certified per the International Building Code (IBC).
With these additional certifications, Kohler said its generators up to 2 MW, switchgear and related accessories are pre-approved for healthcare facility. Generator sets up to 3.25 MW, enclosures, fuel tanks, automatic transfer switches, switchgear and related accessories also meet IBC seismic requirements, the company said.
