Leadership Transition At Lincoln Electric

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. announced that John M. Stropki, Jr., 61, who has been chairman, president and chief executive officer since 2004, will become executive chairman and Christopher L. Mapes, 50, will be named president and CEO, both effective December 31. The company said Stropki will work with Mapes to ensure a seamless management transition.

Mapes, who has been serving as chief operating officer of the company since September 1, 2011 and has been a board member since February 2010, has held positions at General Motors and A.O. Smith Corp.
