Sanchez To Lead NC² Venture In Brazil

NC² Brasil, the truck assembly company formed as a worldwide joint venture between Caterpillar and Navistar, announced the appointment of Waldey Sanchez as the company’s chief executive in Brazil. Along with continuing as president of the Operations Group for Navistar in South America, Sanchez will lead the truck assembler’s operations in Brazil and will report directly to the NC² board.

Sanchez has been with the Navistar Group for 35 years, 11 of them heading up the corporation’s business in the Mercosur region and becoming president of the group for South American countries in 2010. He was president of MWM International from 1999 to 2010 and of Iochpe Maxion Argentina from 1996 to 1997.

NC2 Brasil is part of the 50/50 joint venture between Caterpillar and Navistar dedicated to the development, manufacturing and distribution of commercial trucks outside North America and India. NC2’s product line will feature both conventional and cab-over truck designs and will be sold under both the International and Cat brands. In Brazil, the company will initially work only with International products and will maintain production in Caxias do Sul.
