Marquard Heads Development At Deutz

Dr. Ralf Marquard will take over as head of research and development at Deutz on Oct. 1, 2010.

Marquard, is a mechanical engineer from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany, with a specialization in design and internal combustion engines. After the university he worked as research assistant at FEV in Aachen and gained a doctorate in 1992.

He was then head of design at Meta Motoren- und Energietechnick in Germany and head of the powertrain systems design department in the Austrian engineering company AVL List.

From 2004 to 2008 Marquard was head of development for medium speed engines at MAN SE in Augsburg and since 2009 he has been in change of research and preliminary development unit for commercial vehicle engines at MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG in Nuremberg.

At Deutz, Marquard replaces Dr. Hans-Josef Schiffgens, who was head of research and development since 2007 and who left the company at the end of June 2010 to take up a new position outside Deutz.
