Mann+Hummel Enters Off-Road DPF Business

Germany’s Mann+Hummel Industrial Filters and DES Diesel Exhaust Systems GmbH have signed a cooperative agreement for the distribution of diesel particulate filters for off-road applications in Europe and North America.

DES is a wholly owned subsidiary of HJS Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH & Co KG, Menden/Sauerland, Germany. The company specializes in exhaust systems for on-road applications such as buses, light trucks, supply and disposal vehicles and camping and recreational vehicles.

In an announcement, the companies said complete exhaust systems are being developed for off‑road applications such as agricultural machines, forklift trucks and stationary systems. The systems are designed to meet the requirements of these applications with regard to regeneration of the diesel particulate filter independent of engine temperature and load-cycle changes. The filter technology is based on HJS sintered metal solution.
