MWM International In Polish Engine Deal

Posted on January 31, 2014

MWM International, the South American based engine subsidiary of Navistar, announced it has signed a supply deal with Polish tractor manufacturer Ursus. MWM will supply MaxxForce 4.1A diesels rated 83 hp to Ursus for its 8014H agricultural tractors. The tractors will be assembled in Poland and sold to customers in Africa. Engine shipments are scheduled to begin in the first half of this year, MWM International said.

Thomas Püschel, sales and marketing director at MWM International, said the contract strengthens the position of the company in the off-road segment. “With Ursus, the company reaches the milestone of 75 clients abroad,” Püschel said. “This sale will contribute to MWM reaching its growth goal for 2014, expected to be 7%.”

MWM International is building the engines at its plant in Santo Amaro, São Paulo state. In the last five years, MWM International said it has grown its off-road engine business by 150%, including Mercosur sales and exports.
