E Instruments has released the E8500 portable combustion and emissions analyzer for boiler, burner, engine, turbine, furnace and other combustion applications.
The analyzer has a maximum of nine gas sensors—O2, CO2, CO, NO, NO2, H2S, CxHy, NOx and SO2.
The internal thermoelectrical chiller is designed to efficiently and quickly remove water vapor from the flue gas sample to prevent combustion gases from bubbling from the gas phase in the condensate, the company said, and the built-in condensate drain pump automatically pumps the accumulated water out through the bottom of the unit.
Temperature measurements for flue gas and air, as well as the differential temperature, are standard features. An internal pressure sensor is designed to allow the analyzer to measure pressure and stack draft. Gas velocity can be measured using the differential pressure and an optional Pitot tube.
The standard EGAS software package offers the ability to save and graph data in real time in the field with a laptop or in a laboratory with a PC, the company said. Communication between the E8500 and the computer can be accomplished via wireless Bluetooth communications or a USB cable.
