Deere Completes Foundry Modernization
As part of a reported $1 billion investment over the last decade in its Waterloo, Ia. Operations, John Deere has finalized a $150 million modernization of its John Deere Foundry in Waterloo, according to the WCFCourier.com (link below).
Three years in the making, it is the latest in more than $1 billion in investments Deere has reportedly made over the past decade in its Waterloo operations -- the company's largest manufacturing complex.
The foundry modernization -- believed to be Deere's largest investment in the facility since it was built more than 40 years ago, allows Deere to produce larger castings for its larger machines. The project includes a new high-tech mold line, integrated cooling system and core processes.
