Hall Effect Joysticks

Posted on January 31, 2013

J.R. Merritt Controls, Inc. has developed a new joystick designed to combine the same heavy-duty mechanical construction as its existing Pro-6 joystick with the improved life cycle of a non-contacting Hall-effect proportional output device. The Pro-6H joystick is suitable for use on scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, bucket trucks, cranes, agricultural, mining and forestry equipment, the company said.

The single-axis joystick is engineered to be resistant to EMI and has standard proportional 0.5 to 4.5 V dc output with optional custom-engineered PWM circuits. The 10 mm diameter handle shaft allows for a large variety of optional handle configurations, including triggers, rocker switches, push-buttons and thumb wheels, the company said.
