FeedDeere’s New Marine And Gen Drive Diesels
John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) launched Marine Tier 3 PowerTech 4.5L and 6.8L propulsion and generator-drive engines at the International WorkBoat Show, in December.
JDPS said the engines also will achieve compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier II emissions regulations and EU 97/68/EC. Deere added that it will continue to offer Tier 2 and non-certified marine engine models for regions and applications not impacted by the new regulations.
John Deere is adding two new 4.5L models to its lineup of Tier 3 marine engines; the PowerTech model 4045TFM85 generator-drive engine and the PowerTech 4045AFM85 propulsion and generator-drive engine. Propulsion power ratings for this engine include 160 hp to 225 hp for the PowerTech 4045AFM85 propulsion engine.
Generator-drive 4.5L engine prime power ratings include: PowerTech 4045TFM85: 99 hp at 60 Hz and 82 hp at 50 Hz. For the PowerTech 4045AFM85 generator-drive engine ratings are 148 hp at 60 Hz and 119 hp at 50 Hz.
