Otto, Carpentersville, Ill., has gone into production with its new HTWM, Hall Effect miniature proportional thumbwheel switch. The HTWM is designed to provide the same performance as the standard HTW Hall Effect thumbwheel but with a much shorter (0.96 in. maximum) behind panel depth.

Available with eight output options, the HTWM offers a self-centering, single axis, thumbwheel actuator that provides linear change in voltage output in either direction from center. Options include increasing or decreasing voltage output from the center position to the full travel position in either direction and single or dual (redundant) outputs in either direction.

Targeted toward grip, armrest and panel applications in mobile equipment and vehicles, the HTWM switch offers rocker style mounting, knurled or paddle wheel styles and a variety of wheel and bezel colors. The electronics are sealed to IP68S and the unit has excellent EMI/RFI immunity and a 3 million cycle rotational life, the company said.
