Fairfield Manufacturing Purchased By Swiss Company

Fairfield Manufacturing Co., Inc., the Lafayette, Ind.-headquartered manufacturer of gear and drive systems for mobile and industrial applications, has been acquired by Saurer AG. Based in Switzerland, Saurer is a global producer of textile machinery and power transmission solutions with over $1.8 billion in annual revenues and 8800 employees worldwide. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fairfield will become part of Saurer’s Transmission Systems segment which also includes Graziano Trasmissioni, a manufacturer of gears, axles, transmissions, and complete drive line solutions for the on/off-highway markets. Graziano, headquartered in Italy, has 11 manufacturing locations globally and employs over 3000 people.
