Cummins Inc. said it signed an agreement allowing its joint venture with India’s Tata Motors to expand engine production. The joint venture, Tata Cummins Ltd., will fund the $60 million expansion from ongoing cash flow and joint venture debt, Cummins said in a statement.

The venture will boost production of Cummins B series engines to 100,000 units annually within two years and to 120,000 units thereafter, Cummins said. The venture currently produces about 69,000 Cummins B series engines per year.

The joint venture was started in 1992 to make engines for trucks manufactured by Tata Motors, India's largest truck producer.
