AEM: Tractor, Combine Sales Flat in ‘05

The final figures from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) for 2005 showed the agricultural equipment was essentially flat in 2005 compared to 2004.

Overall tractor sales were down 1916 tractors or 0.8%. The big drop was in smaller units, with tractors under 40 hp showing a 5% drop to 127,240 units vs. 133,965. Above that, tractors in the 40 to 100 hp class were up 6.7% and tractors over 100 hp were down by seven tractors; 19,831 to 19,838.

Four-wheel-drive tractors showed a 1.7% increase, while combine sales were up 0.7%
