Parflex XDT Formed Tubing For Faster Installation
Parker Hannifin’s Parflex Division, has developed specialized formed tubing and hoses that are designed to allow them to be routed over, under and through confined spaces. The company’s XDT (eXtreme Duty Tubing) tubing is less expensive than hose, has a tighter bend radius and can replace hose in low pressure hydraulic systems, the company said. Each tube is pre-formed during production to fit the specific application design and the lightweight, PMH push-to-connect hydraulic fitting is designed to speed up assembly, especially in difficult to reach areas such as hydraulic joystick ports.
The push-to-connect ends reduce assembly time by 60 seconds per connection when compared to standard hose fittings, Parker said, allowing the assembly to quickly snap into place. In addition, the PMH/XDT system is 60% lighter than traditional pilot line hose assemblies, which can significantly reduce annual shipping costs and vehicle weight.
XDT tubing assemblies are available from the Parflex division in ¼ in., 3/8 in. or ½ in. i.d. and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40° to +200°F. At IFPE 2014, the Parflex Division will display the tubing in an actual application.
