New Axial Piston Pump From Bosch Rexroth

Posted on January 13, 2014

Bosch Rexroth will unveil the newest size in its A1VO Series 10 axial piston pump range. The new size 18 pump was developed specifically for price-sensitive applications and markets — such as skid-steer loaders, forklifts, tractors, gate lifts and truck-mounted cranes — with no compromises regarding efficiency and power density, the company said.

The A1VO pump offers the benefit of load sensing principles similar to the existing family of variable axial piston pumps on mobile machines in which hydraulic systems provide power for machine function only on demand. Bosch Rexroth said it designed the A1VO series to bring the fuel savings of load sensing technology to the smaller power classes of mobile machinery. In addition to being a cost-effective alternative to constant pumps, the A1VO offers an economical switch from open center design to a load sensing system, the company said.

The cost optimized design not only provides an especially compact package but also provides high energy efficiency, Bosch Rexroth said. The pressure is controlled without bypass losses, meaning that cooling demands are greatly reduced or not needed at all.

The series is now available in two displacement sizes, 18 and 35 cc/rev. The A1VO pump is rated at a working pressure of 3600 psi and a peak pressure of up to 4500 psi. With its universal through-drive, the Bosch Rexroth said the A1VO pump can be easily combined with a broad range of axial piston pumps, gear pumps and other hydraulic pumps.
