HED Launching New 7 in. High-Resolution Display

Posted on January 10, 2014

HED, the Hartford, Wis.-headquartered control and display specialist, has developed the newest member of its CanLink family of high-resolution displays. The HED CL-711display is a 7 in., IP-67 rated (submersible in up to 39 in. of water) module that is designed to be mounted inside or outside a vehicle cab. To ensure its ability to withstand the high shock loads often found in off-highway equipment, HED has also subjected the CL-711 display to High Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) that includes shaking the unit across six axes at 50 g while at the same time cycling the ambient temperatures from -40° to 185° (-40C to 85° C).

HED said its design optimizes visibility by optically bonding anti-reflective glass directly to the wide video graphics array (WVGA) 800 x 480 LCD, which minimizes glare and eliminates potential for fogging of the screen, HED said.  That, in combination with a high-powered LCD, makes the CL-711 display is readable in any lighting condition, the company said.

Integral to the CL-711 design is a dual microprocessor approach that allows the CL-711 to not only act as a system display, but also be capable of master control functions of the complete system.
