JCB In Long-Term Engine Deal
JCB has signed a long-term agreement to supply its Ecomax Tier 4 interim engines for a new range of rotating telescopic handlers to be launched by Italian manufacturer Magni Telescopic Handlers. Magni said it will produce up to 1000 machines a year from its new 6000 m² (64,000 sq. ft.) production facility in Castelfranco Emilia, near Modena.
There will be seven models in the Magni range offering payloads of between 4.0 and 6.0 tonnes (4.4 and 6.6 tons) and with lift heights of between 18 and 30 m (59 and 98 ft.). The machines will be equipped with the JCB Ecomax Tier 4 interim engine for all the present and future power range on an exclusive basis. The first of the products go into production in the spring and a number of the models will feature patented stabiliser technology exclusive to Magni design.
The deal follows a recently announced £3 million (US$4.7) a year deal to provide U.K.-based Johnston Sweepers, a manufacturer of street cleaning equipment, with the JCB Ecomax engine.
