New DD15 Engine Available In Sterling Trucks

Sterling Truck Corp. said that the new DD15 engine is now available for order in heavy-duty Sterling Set-Back A-Line and Set-Back L-Line models. The DD15 is offered in ratings from 455 to 560 hp and torques of 1550 to 1850 lb.ft., with dual torque ratings for special applications.

"The DD15 is a great addition to our component offerings," said Richard Shearing, manager of product strategy for Sterling Truck Corp. "It's a reliable, powerful engine that pairs well with our Set-Back A-Line and Set-Back L-Line models for a complete transportation package for LTL and on-highway applications."

With its combination of exhaust gas recirculation and a particulate filter for reduced emissions, the DD15 is a global engine that is tailored to North America's EPA '07 emissions regulations. The DD15 is part of the Heavy-Duty Engine Platform, and in time, engines sharing this design will be available in all Daimler Trucks heavy-duty models around the world.

Sterling, headquartered in Redford, Mich., produces a full line of Class 3-8 work trucks for regional hauling and diverse vocational applications. It is a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America LLC.
