Husco Announces $50 Million Expansion; Plant In India

Husco International, Pewaukee, Wis. announced $50 million in investments "to support growth." As part of the expansion, Husco said it will open a plant in India later this year, and that it will expand or modernize its plants in Whitewater, Wis. and Pewaukee. The privately held manufacturer of hydraulic components said it has sales of almost $250 million a year and 1000 employees worldwide.

The company said its facility near
Pune, India, will house Husco's new Asian Research and Development Center as well as a manufacturing plant. Construction is expected to begin in late March or early April, with the operation expected to employ 50 production workers and 30 engineers within three years. In Whitewater, Husco said it has added a leased facility to supplement its factory, where employment has grown to 200 from 50 in the past two years.
