Versatile Instrument Cluster

Posted on December 2, 2008

Parker Vansco has developed a new instrument cluster designed to provide functionality and versatility in a wide range of mobile equipment applications. The new DPS cluster can display complete vehicle information in a single centralized location and can be used in 12 or 24 V systems.

The DPS cluster can support up to four J1939 communication channels, as well as USB, RS232, J1708 and LIN protocols. The standard configuration has 21 digital inputs, five analog inputs, two frequency inputs and as many as six outputs. It can also support options such as warning buzzers and a real-time clock.

The new cluster can accommodate as many as five backlit gauges, up to 26 LED indicators and large or small customizable LCD displays. It is housed within a ruggedized enclosure that has been tested to a range of ISO, J1455 and EP455 specifications, Parker Vansco said.

More details on the new DPS clusters will be available in an upcoming issue of Diesel Progress.
