Force Protection, Inc. announced it has received a second delivery order from the U.S. Marine Corps worth an estimated $69 million for 100 additional Cougar Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Rapid Response Vehicles (JERRV). The order marks the fulfillment of a sole source contract previously announced and awarded to Force Protection on November 9. More than 300 Force Protection vehicles are currently in the field, incorporating the company’s V-shaped hull design that is engineered to deflect the force of blasts away from passengers.

Force Protection, Inc. manufactures ballistic- and mine-protected vehicles through its wholly owned subsidiary. These specialty vehicles are protected against landmines, hostile fire, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). The vehicles are manufactured outside Charleston, S.C.
