KS Pistons Buys Mexican Piston Operation

KS Pistons a division of Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group, said it will acquire Pistones Moresa, an original equipment piston operation in Celaya, Mexico, from from DESC Automotive Group. Completion of the acquisition is expected in early 2006 through KS Pistons’ current North American companies. Financial details were not disclosed.

The Celaya OE piston facility employs 200 people and has approximately $15 million in annual sales, according to Kolbenschmidt Pierburg. Established in 1956, the facility produces gasoline and diesel pistons for automotive and commercial vehicles. KS Pistons said the acquisition increases its worldwide capacities and further strengthens of its presence in the key North American market.
