ZF Puts Efficiency On Display

Posted on January 9, 2014

ZF will present its Ergopower Efficiency Package, the continuously variable construction machinery transmission cPOWER, as well as the ZF Hybrid module at ConExpo-ConAgg 2014. As a system supplier, ZF focuses on the entire drive system combining hardware such as axles and transmissions with advanced software.

According to the company, the Efficiency Package consolidates ZF’s competence in the transmission, axle and software arenas, thus offering more than the sum of individual component capabilities. This approach, ZF said, makes it possible to reconcile the frequently conflicting demands for enhanced comfort, increased productivity, lower fuel consumption and reduced component wear.

cPOWER is a fully powersplit, continuously variable transmission designed to allows for completely new drive concepts, ZF said. The system can provide as much as a 25% improvement in fuel consumption as well as up to 20% more efficiency, according to ZF.

Concerning hybrid technology, ZF offers a solution that comprises electric machines and complete hybrid systems all from one source. The ZF-hybrid system is suitable for all ZF transmission series and can be implemented for direct and separate transmission mounting.
