Doosan’s First Tier 4 Final Gen-Set

Posted on January 9, 2014

Doosan Portable Power has introduced its first generator set that complies with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 final regulations.  The G240WCU gen-set also includes a new control panel designed for easier operation and other design improvements for reliability in harsh environments.

The G240WCU is powered by a six-cylinder Cummins QSB7-G6 Tier 4 final engine rated 282 hp at 1800 rpm. The engine incorporates a diesel oxidation catalyst and selective catalytic reduction technology, both from Cummins Emission Solutions, to achieve Tier 4 final emissions requirements, the company said.

The generator set has a fuel tank capacity of 368 gal. for 26 hours’ runtime at 100% load, which is a 5% increase in runtime over the Tier 4 interim technology, the company said. The diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank holds 25 gal.
