Bomag’s Tier 4 Final Rollers

Posted on January 9, 2014

Bomag has developed two tandem vibratory rollers that include updated frame designs and are powered by Tier 4 final engines.  The BW141AD-5 and BW151AD-5 are completely new machines that fit into the small end of Bomag’s larger roller line, said David Dennison, manager of marketing services/product manager for Bomag.

“These are the smallest of our big rollers,” Dennison said. “You’ll start seeing them being used on county road projects, large parking lots. These won’t be typically used by driveway contractors.”

The new rollers, which debuted in Europe earlier this year and have recently become available in North America, are powered by liquid-cooled Kubota V3307 CR-T four-cylinder diesel engines rated 73.2 hp. The machines replace Bomag’s BW141AD-4 and BW151AD-4 models and are manufactured in Boppard, Germany.

Offering 59 and 66 in. working widths, respectively, the BW141AD-5 and BW151AD-5 rollers each deliver up to 17,760 lb. of centrifugal force and 4200 vibrations per minute (VPM) — an increase of 17% from the AD-4 series machines.
