Changes At Mercedes-Benz In Brazil
Mercedes-Benz has announced two significant changes involving its truck operations in Brazil.
Roberto Leoncini has been named the new head of sales and marketing for Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses in Brazil. In his new function at Daimler Trucks, he is responsible for all sales and marketing functions for Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses in that market and reports directly to Philipp Schiemer, president of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and CEO of Daimler Trucks Latin America. He succeeds Joachim Maier, who took over as president of Mercedes-Benz Argentina at the beginning of February.
Leoncini previously was general director at Scania, where he spent 26 years.
Erodes Berbetz is the new head of procurement at Mercedes-Benz do Brazil. He succeeds the retiring Ricardo Vieira Santos and will be responsible for purchasing activities for the Brazilian operation. He reports to Dr. Marcus Schoenenberg, Head of Global Procurement Trucks & Buses.
Previous experience includes a stint at Volvo in Brazil, a strategic sourcing team leader" at Volvo Trucks in the U.S., and as purchasing director South America for Volvo do Brazil.
