Komatsu Exec to Run Amtrak

Amtrak said it has hired former railroad executive Alexander Kummant to be president and chief executive officer starting on Sept. 12, filling a spot that had been open for almost 10 months. Kummant previously worked at Union Pacific Corp., the largest U.S. railroad operator, and most recently was chief marketing officer for Komatsu America Corp., a unit of construction equipment supplier Komatsu Ltd.
