Over 500,000 Attendees at bauma 2013

Posted on April 22, 2013

Organizers of the recently concluded bauma 2013 said 530,000 visitors from over 200 countries walked the grounds of the Messe München exhibition center between April 15 and 21. Not only did this edition of bauma break all previous records for exhibitor numbers and exhibition space, it also attracted the highest number of visitors ever, said Klaus Dittrich, chairman & CEO of Messe München, Munich, Germany.

In fairness, it should be noted that bauma opens the doors to the general public on the weekend, which helps create such large attendance numbers.  However, Diesel Progress spent the week at bauma 2013 and attendance, enthusiasm and energy was indeed high, maybe an all-time high.  It was a heck of a show.

The organizers said over 200,000 visitors came from outside Germany, also a higher number of such attendees than ever before. The top 10 countries of origin among the visitors were: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Russian Federation, France, Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden and Poland.  Indonesia, bauma’s partner country this year, was also strongly represented, with a high-ranking political delegation and around 800 visitors.

In total, 3420 exhibitors, 1346 from Germany and 2074 from 57 countries, exhibited at bauma 2013 on a record exhibition space of 570,000 sq m

The next bauma takes place from April 11 to 17, 2016 in Munich.
