New Horizontal Grinder From Vermeer

Posted on April 23, 2013

Vermeer launched its all-new HG4000 horizontal grinder that incorporates a number of cost-conscious features and engine technology that has shown fuel savings over similarly powered engines in this application, said the company. An FPT diesel engine rated 445 hp powers the machine and meets emission regulations through selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology.

To reduce material slippage and maintain controlled entry into the mill, a crush boost button function momentarily engages increased feed roller downforce on incoming material. For certain conditions, the variable feed roller downforce can be reduced or temporarily paused to boost fuel efficiency and help extend component wear life, Vermeer said.
